Abstract. The article is devoted to the development of a conceptual model of the design process of modern women’s clothing, which is aimed at collecting data and their subsequent interpretation in an innovative way of manufacturing modern models of traditional garments in the process of studying the discipline «Design of garments». The construction of a conceptual model in the process of designing clothes was based on heuristic techniques and was carried out in several stages. The identified structural and logical blocks of data made it possible to systematize the obtained material in the form of an information model. The authors present conceptual approaches as a set of various subsystems that function within the overall system according to the principles of consistency, integration, hierarchy, compatibility and invariance.

The article indicates that, along with the indicated components, the developed conceptual model includes a historical component that formulates ideas about the features of the traditional costume. As a result of the study, a database was built that reflects such a subject area as the design of ethnic clothing. Appeal to national cultural traditions allows us to solve problems of a moral and patriotic nature, to form aesthetic ideas, which is very relevant at the present time.

Research in the field of costume design offers a fairly large number of models of the process of creating modern garments, taking into account fashion trends, the use of modern textile materials and innovative technological processing. The developed structural-logical conceptual model made it possible to determine the information range of tasks for creating modern ethnic clothing with signs of regional affiliation.

Thus, it is recommended to use the developed conceptual model for studying the discipline «Design of garments», taking into account the regional component, in the educational process of universities that train bachelors, masters and graduate students in the areas of design and technology of light industry products; at enterprises producing clothes, as well as at institutions of additional education for the development of new competencies focused on the digitalization of the economy.
