Abstract. When developing workwear for housing and communal services workers at the design stage, it is necessary that later it should be able to provide effective thermal protection of a person from adverse climatic influences on his body. Each winter workwear consists of a package of materials, among which a non-woven group can be distinguished, their production is intensively developing all over the world. These materials are characterized by flexibility, chemical resistance, environmental safety and sufficient strength. To implement this task, various thermophysical parameters of the constituent elements included in the clothing package are required. One of these parameters is the thermal conductivity of materials, which contributes to the selection of the defining properties of thermal insulation protection.

Non-woven materials are widely used in light industry as insulation for clothing, in the manufacture of hats and shoes. And they are also found in various industries for thermal insulation of valves, pipelines, process equipment; they are used in the production of protective equipment for personnel working in harsh production conditions (in extreme cold and in hot workshops). They are used in agriculture and in construction to insulate buildings.

Modern technologies make it possible to create new nonwovens with predetermined properties that have a significant impact on their thermal protection characteristics. There is a problem associated with the control of the thermophysical properties of nonwovens, both at the stage of their production and during operation in different external conditions.

To achieve this goal, you can use both expensive stationary devices, in which the measuring cycle is carried out in a few hours, and express analysis devices that allow you to establish the thermal characteristics of the material within 5…15 minutes, they are affordable for both consumers and manufacturers of thermal insulation materials. In similar devices, a non-stationary method of regular thermal regime is used during operation.
