Abstract. The article describes the use of fractal models as generators and initiators of the construction of communicative structures of costumeographic objects at two levels: the level of fractal analytics and the level of computer form creation. At the first level, a qualitative classification of compositional shaping was developed using the example of visual and graphic communications of the fashion brand «Chanel» in the conventionally distinguished systems «Suit-textile-ornament», «Suit-accessories», «Suit-background». It is also shown how the form-building properties of specific fractal models determine the systemic relationships of the aforementioned systems, provide «information richness» and artistic integrity of advertising communication, while maintaining the continuity of the brand’s style identifiers, in particular in the seasonal collections of the year and in general, the entire evolutionary concept of the fashion house in question. The basic principle of fractal geometry — self-similarity — made it possible to build a hierarchy of interconnections of all elements in the communicative space of fashion. At the second level, the experience of testing the application of these models in computer form creation of students was considered, where a multimedia design system is used as an electronic palette in combination with fractal methodology. So, within the framework of the study, an experiment was carried out within the framework of the course «Computer technologies in costume design», which made it possible to establish that the concept of form creation described in the article allows students to reach a new qualitative level of innovative form creation, which combines scientific and artistic knowledge, with which, there is the development of techniques of fractal shaping and the development of computer programs. The main condition for this is the preservation of artistic methods and techniques of aesthetic expressiveness of the results that are characteristic of design art.
