Abstract. The article discusses a popular model of special dancing shoes — «jazzers», used by professional dancers both at rehearsals and at performances. The design features of the model, which ensure the freedom of movement of the dancer’s foot, the materials used for its manufacture, the top and bottom, and the methods of fastening on the foot are analyzed. An analysis of the designs of analog models of low and high classical models and jazz sneakers from various manufacturers represented on the Russian market is presented. Based on the results of the conducted research, a classification of shoes for professional dancing of the «jazzy» model has been compiled. A scientifically based experimental design of split-sole shoes for professional dancers has been developed, and the features of the technology of manual assembly of the upper and shoe blanks on a special dance shoe with photographic materials of the work stages are described.

The article is part of a series of publications covering scientific work in the field of designing and improving special shoe designs, including for professional dancers, in accordance with the Research Plan of the Kosygin Russian State University for 2024–2028, topic No. 2.12 «Synergy of processes for the production of leather products in the context of digitalization», Stage 1. «Intellectualization of the design of leather products using a graphical information base». The research results are intended to be used in the educational process of the department of «Artistic modeling, design and technology of leather products» in the form of a textbook.
