Abstract. The problem of skull deformation in infants, despite the progress in modern medicine, remains relevant. It can be caused by various intrauterine and postnatal factors. Currently, this problem is being actively studied, and a number of correction methods have been proposed. One of the promising areas is the use of special craniocorrectors. The currently existing models have both advantages and many disadvantages.

Due to the existing shortcomings of these craniocorrectors, it is necessary to develop a unified model made of textile materials with compartments for inserting correction plates. This will allow creating a more convenient and effective device for correcting head shape anomalies in infants.

One of the key stages in the development of such a craniocorrector is the selection of materials for rigid plates and the study of their strength characteristics. This will help determine the optimal parameters of the craniocorrector and ensure its reliability and effectiveness in correcting skull deformations.

The authors conducted studies of the physical and mechanical properties of the selected samples. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the most suitable material for the manufacture of craniocorrectors’ insert plates is a six-layer knitted polymer tape made of textile polyester fibers. This material demonstrated the best strength indicators among all the samples studied. In addition, it dries quickly compared to other samples. The mass of the craniocorrectors with insert plates made of this material does not exceed 130 grams. However, for the final selection of materials, it is necessary to conduct all the necessary studies and create a prototype of the craniocorrectors.
