Abstract. This article examines knitted structures consisting of three loop layers. Diagrams of possible joining methods and letter expressions describing the sequence of such joining are presented. Types of spatial knitted structures of three — layer parts are considered, along with graphic symbolic diagrams of their upper cuts and symbolic descriptions of their structure. A comparative analysis of various methods for joining the loop layers of three-layer knitted parts along the lateral sides is provided. This analysis revealed that some of them have a similar spatial structure, differing only in the direction of the side edge joining lines — left or right — and the presence of a closed or open element. The creation of such three-layer fabrics during flat knitting requires the use of a production technology based on a specific sequence of formation of each loop layer of the knitwear. The conditions necessary for the implementation of the technology for the step — by — step formation of differently connected layers of a three-layer knitted part are determined. The advantage of this technology lies in the ability to use a variety of raw materials and weaves in each layer of three — layer knitwear, enabling the creation of a wide range of knitwear products. This paper presents a technology for producing both functional parts and decorative three-layer elements on a universal flat knitting machine. Based on this technology, a knitting program was developed and implemented on a Stoll CMS 530 ki W E 14 electronically controlled double-bed flat knitting machine for the production of knitted fabric samples.
