Abstract. Today, in the conditions of building an innovative economy, one of the most important criteria for the development of a light industry enterprise is the level of its automation, which, if in the past century was considered an advanced technological frontier for the most progressive industries, now it is becoming an obligatory element in the organization of almost every production system. When creating products, in particular footwear, one of the leading factors is not only the use of advanced production technologies and innovations to ensure its competitiveness, but also the speed of release to the market, due not least to design.

The aim of the research is to present an improved method for gradation patterns of shoe parts in a computer-aided design environment. The process of gradation shoe parts in different CAD systems is carried out in different ways, which leads to unsatisfactory tightening of upper blanks of extreme sizes on the last. The lack of descriptions of grading algorithms in known systems negatively affects the creation of new software applications. Therefore, the authors, based on the analysis of the regularities of the change in the sizes of the upper and lower parts of the shoe during the transition from one size and/or fullness to other sizes and/or fullness in various shoe numbering systems, established mathematical expressions based on the theory of similarity for calculating the coordinates of the points of the graded templates. Algorithms have been developed for the procedures of grading the details of the top and bottom for the metric and shtih numbering systems of shoes. The fundamental difference between the proposed solution and the known ones is the experimentally realized «zone» grading of the heel and toe parts of the constructive base of the shoe upper, expressed in the use of a variable rather than an average coefficient of relative increment, which provides a more accurate reproduction of the shapes and sizes of parts in a series. The proposed algorithms and mathematical grading can be used for individual modules or utilities, both in 2-D and 3-D computer-aided design systems. This approach is being developed within the framework of the dissertation for the degree of candidate of technical sciences Razina E.I. and it is supposed to be introduced into the educational process of the departments «Artistic modeling, design and technology of leather goods», «Information technology» A.N. Kosygin RSU (Technology. Design. Art) in the form of teaching aids.
