Abstract. The article is devoted to the automation of equipment in the garment industry. The purpose of the article is to analyze modern sewing equipment and the possibilities of its automation, which reduce the time spent on manufacturing the product. The production tasks have been identified, for which the enterprise can use computer-aided design systems, automated control systems and automated equipment, which are elements of the information flow of the enterprise. At the same time, traditionally, the material flows of the enterprise are realized in the preparatory cutting, sewing, and finishing workshops. The identified flows are interconnected and inseparable at all stages of the production process. At the same time, human functions consist for the most part in the implementation of general control and management of the operation of automated complexes. The trends in the creation and development of semi-automatic machines and automatic machines, as well as the possibilities of automating various actions performed on sewing equipment, are considered. For the analysis carried out from the point of view of the availability of standard, special and service automated functions, the authors selected sewing equipment of automatic and semi-automatic action. The list of equipment with a wide range of these functions is presented, the introduction of which into production reduces the time for operations, improves quality control and management of production processes, increases the flexibility of production processes for manufacturing products of various assortment, reduces costs and increases the competitiveness of the enterprise in the market. The presented analysis of modern equipment with automated functions showed that in the garment industry there is a tendency to increase the efficiency of the functioning of production processes and the quality of products through the introduction of the latest technologies and automated systems.
