Abstract. The functions of heat-protective adaptive clothing for children diagnosed with cerebral palsy (ICP) should not only provide the necessary protection, but also take into account the psychological, moral, aesthetic, social aspect of the child’s life, ensuring comfortable adaptation in the «man-environment» system and preventive health care. The fulfillment of the functions indicated above is laid during the design of the product and determines the parameters of its constructive construction.
In order to develop the optimal design of heat-protective adaptive clothing for children diagnosed with cerebral palsy, the authors examined the main forms of cerebral palsy, identified the physical and physiological characteristics of children. In the course of the study, rational types of winter clothing, lines of divisions and connectors were identified, which were tested during the manufacture of product models and showed their effectiveness in adapting clothing to the needs of children with cerebral palsy. Based on the results of the experimental work, a model of overalls for a boy of primary school age is proposed. The design of the product was developed taking into account the identified deviations in the dimensional characteristics of children with cerebral palsy from typical sizes and the optimal package of materials established during the study, which provides a comfortable microclimate in the underwear space and increased heat-shielding indicators of anatomical areas with difficult natural heat exchange. In order to evaluate the obtained design solution, a prototype product was made and tested in the process of experimental wear. The results of the experimental wear confirmed the correctness of the specified design parameters and high levels of hygienic, operational, ergonomic and aesthetic characteristics.
