Abstract. The article discusses the features of creating designer fashion sketches for collections of modern clothing. The problem of preserving cultural heritage is analyzed, modern approaches to working on the design of traditional Russian crafts are considered.

Historical realities suggest that it is necessary to remember your identity. The cultural code embedded in each person manifests priorities in the choice of a certain consumer product, including in relation to the type and design of clothing. Russian culture covers vast areas: decorative and fine arts, architecture and clothing, literature and music.

There is more history and tradition in what modern people now use than might seem at first glance. Therefore, what constitutes cultural wealth is almost always reflected in newly created art objects. The suit is no exception. Ideas are not born out of nowhere, always having a creative prototype. In this case we are talking about decorative objects of Russian art — clothing and traditional crafts. In particular, embroidery, decorative decoration of folk costumes, cobalt Gzhel and multi-colored Permogorsk paintings, clay Dymkovka and Filimonov painted toys were chosen as the source of creativity.

The article describes the work of transforming the source into current costume models and provides examples of creating a fashionable image. An authentic source of costume or Russian decorative art was selected as a creative source for each sketch part of the models. In accordance with which the graphic presentation, imagery of the media presentation, and the expected texture of the material are chosen.
