Abstract. The problem of environmental pollution and the rational use of material resources is becoming increasingly relevant in the modern world. In this regard, special attention is paid to the recycling and reuse of outdated things — upsycling.

The bag is one of the main accessories of the modern women’s wardrobe. An analysis of fashion trends has shown that for several seasons the most popular model remains the cross-body bag.

A brief historical summary of the appearance and development of bag manufacturing processes is presented in the article. The distinctive features of modern types of cross-body in size, shape, model, purpose, materials used and accessories are highlighted.

The stages of manufacturing a women’s cross-body bag in the upcycling technique are given. The main characteristics of the projected object are defined, the classification of its details is presented in the article. Attention is paid to the choice of accessories and materials that make up the product package. Recommendations for further use of the parts of jeans and jackets remaining after cutting the parts of the bag are given. The methods of processing the main components of the product and the proposed schemes of their processing are selected. Sewing products in compliance with the technological sequence and technical conditions for performing all operations during the manufacturing process is an important step. The scheme of technological processing of the cross-body bag, which includes operations for the preparation and assembly of parts, finishing of the finished product, has been developed.

A portrait of a potential consumer of a women’s cross-body bag has been compiled. Options for spring and summer looks in which a heart-shaped upcycle bag works as an accent accessory are offered.

The developed bag manufacturing technology in the upcycling technique opens up opportunities for creating unique and eco-friendly accessories.
