Abstract. The article passes in review development and role of art textile in the system of fashion representation from collection creature till fashion show. Attention emphasized at fashion designer’s creation. Their actual goal today is resolving some issues connected with photogenic of costume and the collection itself in conditions of visualization, virtualization and digital culture development. In frames of the issues, the textile is going to be a very important means of the fashion expressiveness and fashion designer’s innovatory solutions. Figurative art solution of the textile often becomes determining concept of the collection. It relates to the designer’s main objectives. The article passes in review their resolving for example of role of art textile in Tatyana Parfionova’s creation. Sufficient part of the article is dedicated to the principles of retrospectiveness in a work with art textile and also to author methods such as stylization and citation.
