Abstract. The article examines the trends of fashion design and digital fashion, the global prerequisites and factors that led to their appearance. A metaverse is considered as an environment for the development of digital fashion, and its latest tools and technologies as a necessary for successful working process on the creation of a fashion product. Innovations that allow significantly rationalizing the processes of product development, such as artistic design, construction, prototyping and visualization, are considered. The usability of mastering of the described tools demonstrate the possibilities of their implementation to optimize the interaction between specialists involved in various stages of creating a fashion product. Innovations allow you to free up the developer’s time resources. The article provides examples of using the capabilities of digital tools to provide a common platform to various participants in the fashion industry, facilitating collaboration — virtual demonstrations, screenings and exhibitions allow you to communicate, share ideas and make decisions more effectively. This is how the virtual exhibition area of M.V. Romanov’s artworks are organized. Virtual reality, augmented reality and 3D modeling allow designers to experiment with new shapes, materials and textures, expanding creative possibilities and allowing them to realize unique ideas. Innovations were tested by a team of young scientists of the Russian State University named A.N. Kosygin. In particular, they were used in the process of creating the virtual museum of Vyacheslav Zaitsev (with the participation of prof. N.A. Korobtseva). The article demonstrates the direct connection of the considered tools — the components of the metaverse — and their contribution to sustainable development, allowing realistic visualization of projects before investing time and resources in physical prototyping in real life.
