Abstract. Conscious consumption is becoming a leading trend for the coming decades. Many designers use upcycling and recycling technologies when designing clothes within this trend. A special case is the manufacture of products of various assortment in the technique of patchwork sewing — patchwork original and simple in execution. Clothes created in the patchwork technique are increasingly attracting the attention of consumers of all ages. Details of different shapes and sizes from different properties, texture, pattern, color and methods of production of materials can be combined in one product as a result. Combinations of raincoat materials with coat fabrics, knitted fabrics, as well as fur, suede and leather, both natural and artificial, are relevant in modern models of the shoulder assortment. The quality of finished sewing products largely depends on the quality of the connecting seas of the parts, determined by aesthetic, ergonomic, economic and operational indicators. High strength is one of the important operational requirements for clothing. Different parts of the products are exposed to multiple loads during operation. Therefore, not only the materials, but also the joints of the parts must have strength. The purpose of the study is to determine the tensile strength of thread joints along the seam used in the processing and assembly of parts of products designed from raincoat fabrics in combination with coat materials, natural and artificial leather. The results of the research are presented in the article, which are reflected in the recommendations on the choice of methods of connecting parts when designing clothes from a combination of materials.
