Abstract. The article considers the factors on which the functional, ergonomic and aesthetic properties of shoe models depend, and their demand in the market. The style of the shoe has a decisive influence on the formation of indicators of functionality, comfort, design and style of the shoe models being developed. In accordance with the regulatory documentation, the parameters of the shoe style are analyzed: shape, fullness, length of the additional allowance in the toe part, width of the toe part, which create this style and determine the type and type of shoes. The heel is a detail of the bottom of the shoe and has a close connection with the shoe, in which the elevation of the heel part is set. The style of the heel is characterized not only by height, but also by silhouette (shape and curvature of the side surface), length and width of the side part. The type and kind of shoes affect the design features and proportionality of the details of the top (the design of the workpiece) and bottom (the method of fastening, the presence of parts and the materials used for them). Together, the shoe style, the heel style, the design features and the proportionality of the details of the top and bottom form the silhouette of the shoe, which determines the convenience and style of the models being developed, and their demand by a potential buyer. A significant role in determining the silhouette of shoes and the overall aesthetic effect is provided by the choice of materials used for the manufacture of models. The color, texture, gloss and texture of the material characterize the appearance and perception of shoes, which is important when choosing shoes for a particular style or event.

One of the most popular materials among consumers is leather, which is made from the skins of various animals. This season, as in recent years, exotic leather products have found popularity, which are represented in the collections of many famous designers. They evoke associations with luxury and high status, express the individuality of the owner. Snake prints and crocodile skin are especially on trend. But such a material is very expensive and its use raises some ethical and environmental issues, so manufacturers use natural leather with a finish to match the texture of an exotic animal.

The work presents an up-to-date collection of women’s shoes «Lorraine» for the spring-summer season of socks, the development of which takes into account all the factors affecting the transformation of models and shoe designs — these are the laws of shape development, design features, fashionable color solutions, materials (leather of various textures: suede, smooth, lacquer, embossed under crocodile skin) and the preferences of potential consumers. For each basic model from the collection of women’s shoes «Lorraine», sketches of a structurally unified series with unique features in design and appearance have been developed.
