Abstract. In the article, the author considered the question of the possibility of using a silane solution as a hydrophobic surface at the stage of final finishing in the production of textile materials. The article presents the results of a study of the effect of a silane solution on the hydrophobic characteristics of textile materials. The author obtained results that allow us to conclude that the treatment of textile materials with A-1100 and A-187 silanes as water repellents contributes to the production of hydrophobic surfaces. According to the studies, it was found that the treatment of samples with A-1100 grade silane contributes to an increase in the time of absorption of a water drop on the surface, compared to A-187 grade by 38.8 %. In addition, it was found that the use of A-1100 grade silane at a drying temperature below 100ºC imparts hydrophilic characteristics to textile materials.
