Abstract. The development of high-quality and functional sorption-filtering materials is promising for the creation of modern personal protective equipment. The use of filter-type protective clothing during the work shift by industrial personnel will prevent the resorptive pathway of penetration of harmful substances, which is considered the second risk in terms of the risk of developing occupational diseases. One of the widely used sorbents for creating sorption-filtering textile materials is activated carbon, since it has excellent adsorbing properties. World developments are known — layered materials from carbon-containing non-woven fabric; carbon flannels; carbon-impregnated foam reinforced with a layer of fabric; tissue with a layer of spherical activated carbon granules. The article provides an overview of industrial sorption-filtering materials used to create protective clothing.
In order to improve the protective properties of sorption-filtering textile materials, the authors of the article modified the carbon sorbent in the low-pressure RF-discharge plasma. This method is successfully used to modify the structure and properties of sorbents. The authors also developed methods for forming a sorption layer based on a granular carbon sorbent on a textile basis. Plasma modification made it possible to improve the chemical and operational properties. The results of the effect of plasma modification of a carbon sorbent on the duration of the protective action of sorption-filtering textile materials are presented in the article.
Based on the developed sorption-filtering textile material, a package of materials is proposed for creating filter-type protective clothing. The bag has an increased time of protective action against gaseous substances (ammonia, chlorine) and meets the requirements for protective materials for this type of clothing. The development is based on a sorption-filtering textile material based on a granular carbon sorbent modified in a low-pressure RF-discharge plasma.
Keywords: filtering protective clothing; activated carbon; carbon sorbents; sorption-filtering textile material; personal skin protection means; protective action time; low-temperature low-pressure plasma
