Abstract. The article presents technologies for the repair and restoration of genuine leather products, taking into account modern high requirements for the appearance of products, resource savings and environmental sustainability. The authors describe methods and approaches that improve the operational and aesthetic characteristics, increase the service life of leather products. The main focus is on eliminating operational defects, such as loss of original shape, changes in the structure of the front surface of the skin, loss of coating color, wear of parts, damage to seams.

The main types of repairs are described, including replacement of upper and lining parts, fittings, coloring, repainting, shape restoration, surface treatment to improve its appearance, cleaning, dressing and varnishing. Each procedure requires a thorough analysis of the skin condition, an accurate selection of dyes, adhesives and protective coatings. Shoe repair and restoration technologies are selected individually, depending on the condition of the shoe and the type of leather, as well as consumer requirements.

Special attention is paid to shoe staining procedures, as one of the most difficult types of work and the main stage in restoring the aesthetic characteristics of the product. Modern chemicals are used in the dyeing process to ensure uniform application and high durability. Coloring requires a special approach and skill in the preliminary preparation of the skin surface, the selection of dyes, pigments, primers, modern finishing products and color fixers.

The examples given in the article from the practice of restoration and refinement of leather shoes confirm that the presented technologies ensure high quality of restored products.
