Abstract. In the article, the authors conduct a comprehensive study of the structural features and physico-mechanical characteristics of modern textile materials, with a special focus on knitting production.

The relevance of the research is due to the need to develop innovative textile materials with improved performance properties. The paper analyzes in detail the structural differences between woven and knitted fabrics.

The article pays considerable attention to the development of a methodology for creating fabric-like knitted materials. An original approach to the formation of new structures is proposed by integrating elements of weaving and knitting weaves. Techniques have been developed for the introduction of additional elements of the loop structure in the form of elongated broaches of various lengths based on various types of weaves: weft, lined and jacquard.

In the course of the research, the features of the formation of the structure of each type of interlacing are considered in detail, and key technological difficulties in their practical implementation are identified. Special attention is paid to the problems associated with the use of various thread systems to create a looped soil structure and elongated broaches, which affects the strength of the elements in the material structure.

The practical significance of the work lies in the possibility of creating new types of textile materials with specified performance characteristics. The research results can be used in the development of innovative technologies for the production of knitwear, the creation of special-purpose materials and the optimization of existing production processes.

The scientific novelty of the work is determined by the development of a methodology for combining different types of structures in one material, which opens up new prospects in the creation of textile materials with improved consumer properties. The results obtained can serve as a basis for further research in the field of structural engineering of textile materials.
